Glass

I create work about the importance of water using cast and blown glass. This imagery began as a reaction to a toxic water poisoning in my hometown when coal cleaning chemicals seeped into our river, the source of our drinking water. We had no potable water for three months. These chemicals stuck to the water pipes in our homes. I created imagery from pipe forms to symbolize the importance  pollution from the water. Later we had a series of climate-related, catastrophic floods.

In 2013, I made a  5 ft. high cast glass column on global warming in the Czech Republic. The column is dichroic glass, which changes from pink to green depending on the light.
